Rooms are very clean and well maintained
You end up meeting complete strangers, going on treks together, hanging out, and bonding naturally. Very peaceful place with a calm aura. The place is really clean, rooms are well maintained, and the service is steady and reliable. And the food was yummmmm😍
The hostel is located in a beautiful plantation setting, surrounded by nature. It’s the perfect place if you’re looking to disconnect from the noise of daily life and truly relax. The atmosphere is very quiet, peaceful, and calming, making it an ideal destination for a vacation, work-from-nature, or just a mental reset.
Waking up to the sounds of nature, breathing fresh air, and spending time in such a serene environment was truly refreshing. The place feels close to nature in every sense, yet well maintained and thoughtfully designed for guests.
If you’re someone who loves peace, greenery, and a slow, mindful experience, HostYard Plantation Hostel is a gem you shouldn’t miss. I had an amazing stay and would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Suryanelli. I’m already looking forward to coming back!
The place has a genuinely good vibe — well-designed chill spots, calm ambience and a crowd that actually adds to the experience instead of killing it. The whole outdoor area is kept very clean, which most places claim but rarely deliver.
I stayed one night in their private room and it was premium, very clean and clearly designed in a way that suits couples. No noise, no clutter — just comfortable and well put together.
I also spent a night in the dorm, which turned out to be perfect for solo travellers or groups. Clean and spacious toilets, proper luggage space and genuinely comfortable beds with good blankets — not the flimsy stuff most hostels pass off.
Their adventure activities were a solid bonus (the tree net and ATV rides are actually worth doing). Food was good, hospitality was consistent and the staff handled things smoothly without any drama.
Location is a big win — inside the HML estate, so you get that quiet feel without being cut off. And the pricing is surprisingly reasonable for what you get.
Overall: nothing to complain about, plenty to appreciate and an easy place to recommend if you’re looking for a relaxed, happy hostel vibe in Munnar/Suryanelli.
The views and scenery are absolutely beautiful and unforgettable. The hostel really takes care of its guests by offering various paid activities, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Everything is clean, there’s hot water, and the food is tasty and reasonably priced. 🙂
The owners and staff are incredibly helpful and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere — it’s easy to build close connections here. For me, it was truly special and exactly what I had been missing during my months of traveling. The evening bonfire… pure magic.
